Merchant Seaman serving in World War 1

During World War One medals were awarded to seaman who served for at least 6 months and whose voyages includes at least one danger zone.

Medals were also awarded to merchant seaman who were wounded or contacted sickness requiring them to be invalided during the war.

The National Archives maintains records of these medals which contain full details of the recipients.
