Maldon Union Officials 1846 - 1869

In the early 1800's Parishes were required to provide active support to the ill and destitute members of the village.

After running a small workhouses in villages the 32 parishes in Eastern Essex formed the Maldon Union to provide a workhouse at Market Hill Maldon to cater for all of their needs.

Below is reproduced the Officers of the workhouse at intervals from 1846 to 1869 taken from the annual returns to Government regarding the discharge of Poor Union duties.
