Essex County Constabulary - Dengie Division 1888
By 1888 Essex Constabulary had been
established for over 40 years and was just about to swallow up the
old borough areas that had retained their own small police force.
In the
case of Dengie Division this was to include the Maldon Borough
Police force that consisted of a Sergeant and four Constables.
In
1888 Essex Constabulary consisted of 9 Territorial Divisions plus
Headquarters.
