Dengie Residents entitled to vote in Colchester 1768
On 16 March 1768 an election was held to elect a Member of
Parliament for the Borough of Colchester.
The candidates were Isaac Martin Renbow,
Charles Gray and Alexander Fordyce.
Most voters resided in Colchester although
the electoral process at the time allowed votes for other people
outside of that town.
Several citizens of Eastern Essex were
allowed to vote in this election. The below table records the
voters.
