People at Burnham Horse Races
Horse races took place in
October annually from 1867 and ceased in the 1870’s on land on Marsh
Road immediately next to St Mary’s Church.
The main organiser of the
events was Daniel Pannell who owned the land and lived at Burnham
Hall next to the site.
